“Mirror mirror on the wall, who’s the fairest of them all?” You know where that line is from right? The insecure, sassy pants queen from Snow White of course. She relied on her mirror to tell her whether she was beautiful and not just beautiful, but the MOST beautiful. It’s all too often that we allow our mirror to determine the outcome of our day. We have to know more about who we really are and not just focus on skin deep indicators.
For the first day of the “5 Day Challenge”, the fuel for our soul is this:
“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Psalms 139:14
Here’s the challenge: Get in mind another girl you are really close to. Your daughter, your mom, your sister, your best friend…picture her in your mind. She makes you smile huh? Now imagine that she comes to you and says, “I feel worthless. I am so overwhelmed and feel like I can’t do anything right. Plus, I’ve gained 10 pounds AGAIN and am so frustrated! I don’t even like myself.” Let’s write our BEST encouragement to her in a letter format. Stop reading right now. Get a pen and start writing to her. When you’re done, come back and read the rest of this post.
I’m sure you had some beautiful words about the value of that girl in your life. I bet you told her all kinds of things you love about her and told her how beautiful she is. I bet it would make her smile and feel better about life just knowing she had such a good solid friend in you. Now…here’s the twist. I want you to go to the top of your letter and erase her name. Put this instead:
Now read this letter as if it was written to you.
This is what I want to grasp today. I am fearfully and wonderfully made. I am NOT perfect, but wonderfully made. My kids think so, my husband thinks so and I know there are others in my life who think so too. Same goes for you friends!
Now for the physical challenge.
Here we go ladies! Day 1 is underway. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. Now go show yourself what you’re made of. Don’t forget to comment and share in our community this week! Comment below the post!
