5 Day Challenge: “Train from the Inside Out” DAY 2

Do you have someone in your life that would help you “carry your load” when life gets hard?  I am certainly blessed with some people like that in my life.  We weren’t meant to walk this road alone.  I don’t care who you are or how strong you are or how much you’re experiencing…we need others to hold us up.  Today’s focus is on encouraging one another.  Take the next 4 minutes to watch this video.

I love this story for so many reasons.  What an awesome dad!  This story applies to our challenge today because sometimes, we’re the dad and sometimes we’re the son.  There are seasons in life when we find ourselves carrying someone through the “finish line” of their trial.  And then, there are seasons when we are crippled by the circumstances in our lives and can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel.  Where are you at?  I want to challenge us today with this thought:  How can you be the “dad” to someone who needs help today?  And, for some of you, an even harder challenge is how can you let a “dad” carry you through the finish line of this season?

I know a lot of people who are great at playing the role of the “dad” in this video.  They are the first to help, the first to lend a hand, the first to make a meal, the first to pick up the phone.  But, when they are in a hard circumstance, they refuse to be carried through.  They refuse to let their Heavenly Father carry them through and they refuse to let their friends and family offer a wheelchair push.  Refusing their help is taking away an opportunity to be a hero, an opportunity to gain the riches of giving, an opportunity to love and in return, feel joy.  Why do we deny them this opportunity?  I could answer this question, but I’ll leave that up to you.

Your challenge?  Be the “dad” for someone today and let someone be the “dad” to you.
