Back to the Future

Banana clips, acid washed jean jackets, B.U.M. equipment and hypercolor sweatshirts…those are all things of my past.  Oh, and you can’t forget the process of creating “wings”.

Step 1:  Hold hair straight out to side and soak hair with aqua net.

Step 2:  Lay a burning hot curling iron on the wet area and wrap hair partially in.  Listen for sizzle.

Step 3:  Take iron off of hair and let hair go.  Admire wing 1.  Repeat for wing 2.

Your look wouldn’t quite be complete without “the wave”.

Step 1:  Separate bangs into 2 layers.  Curl top layer back.

Step 2:  Curl bottom layer down.

Step 3:  Pull bangs gently to fill in the middle with “poof”.

Step 4:  Option:  Create this look off to the side to create the tidal wave or keep it center for the rolling wave.

Some things are meant to be left in the past.

My point is this, everyone’s past is colored with beautiful memories interspersed with some polka dots of not-so-good memories.  There are usually a few dark colored blocks of mistakes in the mix, but the blocks are not meant to keep tripping you up, they are meant to be stacked one on top of the other to elevate you to a new level.  Our future and success can be launched by the blocks of failure of our past, but they’ll cause us to stumble if we keep trying to move them, change them or stop our movement and stare at them.

When it comes to our health goals, the majority of women want one of two things, to lose weight or tone up.  The other commonality, is that most women never seem satisfied with their successes.  I think the reason why this happens is because we spend too much time thinking about what we didn’t do or the mistakes we made yesterday.

To move forward, you’re going to have to let go of the past.

let go of past So, you ate an entire cheesecake last night and feel like a failure.  Why did you do it?  Were you lonely, bored, feeling deprived?  Whatever was the cause, figure it out, learn from it and then prevent it from happening again!  Let it fuel you to work harder!
