2 weeks post baby and I’ve made a realistic plan of action. This will be on a trial basis making sure I am not rushing my “healing”. I am just looking to have some moderate exercise, a little sweat and a break. Mamas know we need breaks. I’ve got all of the time in the world…no reason to rush this process right?
If you’re just starting out, or just starting back in, join me! This plan would be perfect for you too.
Monday: A short cardio workout while my husband is home on lunch break to watch baby. I am so thankful my gym is literally 2 minutes from my house. Here’s the workout I plan on doing. http://workoutplanz.com/playlist-workout-sampler/
Baby has his circumcision in the middle of the week so realistically, I better plan the rest for the end of the week.
Friday: Before my husband goes to work, I plan on doing more cardio. Our gym has a virtual studio, so I plan on doing one of the 30 minute moderate Spinning rides (we’ll see how that goes post-baby on the saddle).
Saturday: The hubby will be going to work midday so plan “A” is to make it for a BodyFlow class at the gym at 10am. But, if that doesn’t work, plan “B” will be cardio and a long stretch. I might use the virtual studio for gentle yoga. My back and backs of my legs need a good stretch.
I have not made any formal attempts to “trim” up my nutrition. (It’s not realistic nor is it embracing the season I am in.) Right now, I am trying to drink water all day long. I am also trying to make a conscious effort to eat what I need along with a lot of what I want Time can get away from you with a new baby and 4 kids so I am making sure I eat even if I don’t feel like it or would rather do something else. I am not a “diet” advocate. But, probably around 2 months, I will begin refocusing on nutrition for myself and my family. Again, this is another “break” I am giving myself. I don’t have a lot of “prep” time for meal planning, etc…so we’ve enjoyed food made by friends and I am going to stick with what I can make in short amounts of time. When it’s time to refocus, I’ll probably take a look at what I weigh and do a food log to see how my metabolism is looking (how many calories I am needing.) I am nursing the babe so that changes things for me a bit.
Change is a journey and a process not an event.
A journey or process is step by step. One step at a time. One foot in front of the other. I am sure you are thinking about changes that need to be made and what steps you need to take. We all start talking about it at this time of year. I’d love to help you if you are looking to make some changes. I will be posting to Facebook some specifics of how I think I can help. I’ll try to remember to mention it in the blog for those of you Non-FB folks.
I’ll post later this week with a few “naked” thoughts and an update with how I feel after this week gets rollin’.
